Come to a Place Where You Are Completely Welcomed

Visiting a church for the first time can feel overwhelming. You might be wondering what to wear, where to enter, or if you will even fit in. At Hamilton Park UCC, we believe you shouldn't have to stress to hear a thought-provoking message or find a spiritual community. You do not need any prior church affiliation to walk through our doors—we do what we do because we believe no one should have to navigate life alone.

What to Expect This Sunday

We want you to feel completely at home the moment you arrive at 1210 Maple Avenue. Here is what your Sunday will look like:

  • Come as You Are:
Please wear whatever makes you comfortable! Whether that is jeans and sneakers or your Sunday best, you will fit right in.

  • Easy Access:
Look for the columns facing Maple Avenue to find the Sanctuary. We have an accessible ramp right in the center of the property so everyone can enter with ease.

  • The Service:
Our Sunday gatherings start at 10:30 am and last approximately one hour. You can expect thought-provoking messages and an uplifting environment. We also celebrate Communion once a month (typically the second Sunday), and all are welcome to participate.

Frequently Asked Questions

We don’t care how you’re dressed, how many tattoos you have, or what candidate you voted for. We are a diverse Lancaster church community, each with a special story of our own. We are saving a seat for you!

Who is invited to visit?

Absolutely anybody! We are a welcoming church where moms, dads, grandparents, step-families, couples, singles, and children of every age will find a warm welcome. Here, you will discover that you are a part of a much larger family: the inclusive family of Christ at Hamilton Park UCC.

Where do I park when coming to the church?

Parking is simple and stress-free. You can park in front of our church on the street, or use one of our two paved parking lots (one is located just across the street from the municipal building, and the other is directly behind our building off the alley).

How do I find my way around the building?

If you are joining us for Sunday worship, the large doors with the pillars facing Maple Avenue will be open. You will be greeted by an usher who will hand you a bulletin and invite you into the Sanctuary. If you need step-free access, our main door by the accessibility ramp is always open—just head through the vestibule, take a right by the bathrooms, and go down the hallway to enter the Sanctuary. Visiting during the week? Ring the doorbell at the accessibility ramp entrance, and we will gladly guide you!

Are your Services accessible, and where are the restrooms?

Yes! We have several restrooms located throughout the building. The closest ones to the Sanctuary are just outside the side door and down the hall on the right. This includes a family-friendly, ADA-compliant restroom equipped with a diaper changing station. There is another restroom located directly below our Sanctuary as well. We also offer large print bulletins for those who would like them.

What is the Sunday morning worship service like?

When you enter the Sanctuary, you can sit wherever you like—there are no assigned seats here, though we do have pew cushions to make your experience comfortable! The printed bulletin is easy to follow, but there is absolutely no pressure to participate in anything you aren't comfortable with. Ushers are stationed near the back to answer any questions, and we encourage individuality and authentic worship. You can watch a previous gathering online to see what our services are like.

How does Hamilton Park UCC celebrate Holy Communion?

We typically celebrate communion on the second Sunday of the month. Everyone is welcome to take part—members, non-members, adults, and children whose parents feel they are ready. (If you prefer to receive a blessing or simply observe, that is completely fine too!) We offer gluten free bread and grape juice alongside wheat bread and wine.

What is available for children during the service?

We welcome families and all the joyful noise that comes with them! To make our Sanctuary as child-friendly as possible, we have a dedicated "Prayer Ground" right in the front pew, fully stocked with soft toys, carpet squares, and coloring pages so kids can engage with the service in their own way.

What if I have more questions?

Our ushers are available during every Sunday service to answer questions in person. You can also contact our church office anytime at (717) 397-9791, email us at hamiltonparkucc@gmail.com.
