A Community for the Whole Family
We welcome children and everything that comes with them. We know kids come with joyful sounds, active bodies, and endless questions—and we celebrate all of it! You do not have to apologize for your kids being kids. We cherish families and want to support you in every way!
A Safe Space for Joyful Noise
"Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." — Matthew 19:14
A beautiful part of our smaller church is the depth of our connection.
When children come to HPUCC, they are embraced as our own—they become our children and grandchildren.
When you join us, you will find that you are not alone. You are surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ who are eager to journey with you through all the stages of raising a family.
Because we believe it truly takes a village to raise a child, most of our church-wide activities and events are designed to welcome the entire family.

Child-Centered Spaces & Programs
We welcome the opportunity to be part of your child’s village.
Here is how we intentionally create space for your family on Sunday mornings.
Children's Messages
Every week we have a special moment in the service crafted just for them.
"Prayer Ground"
Our front pew is a special space stocked with toys, books, and coloring pages. You are welcome to sit together in this designated area, or simply borrow the activities to keep little hands busy at your own seat.
The Safe Child Policy
Your Child’s Safety is Our Priority
As parents and caregivers, your first instinct is to protect your kids—and we share that priority. Hamilton Park UCC has a dedicated Safety and Security Team that works diligently to keep safety at the forefront of all our decisions and planning. We take the well-being of our youngest members very seriously. A comprehensive Safe Child Policy is actively in place and always available for you to review, giving you total peace of mind while your family worships.
Additional Programs
Shaped By Our Community
Our community is always growing and evolving, and we are constantly looking for creative ways to support families. If there is a specific program, event, or resource you would like HPUCC to consider offering, we want to know! Reach out to the church office with your suggestions—we would love to collaborate with you.
Our Library
Read, Play, and Take it Home

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child is loud or won't sit still during the service?
Please do not worry! We are a family-friendly church and we happily welcome children along with everything that comes with them—including wiggles, joyful sounds, and endless questions. We cherish families and want you to feel relaxed and supported, not stressed about keeping your kids perfectly quiet.
What is the Family "Prayer Ground"?
To make our Sanctuary as welcoming as possible, we have transformed a front pew into a special space just for families. We know children engage better when they can see what is happening. The Prayer Ground is stocked with soft toys, carpet squares, children's books, and coloring pages.
Do we have to sit in the front row if we want to use the activities?
Not at all! While families are welcome to sit together in the Prayer Ground, you are also free to grab any toys, books, or coloring pages and take them to your preferred seats during worship. We simply ask that you return the items after the service. Older kids may sit up front without their parents if they would like to enjoy the "prayer ground" while you sit in your preferred pew.
Are there supervised activities for kids during the sermon?
During our Sunday worship, we offer a dedicated Children’s Message. Following that message, kids are welcome to head out for supervised activities so they can have fun and learn on their level while parents enjoy the rest of the service stress-free. Please simply ask an usher for details and they will point you in the right direction!
Do you host events for the whole family here in Lancaster?
Absolutely. Because we believe it takes a village to raise a child, most of the activities and events at Hamilton Park UCC are designed to welcome the entire family. We want to be a part of your village, offering a community where parents and guardians are surrounded by people ready to journey with them. Please visit our Happenings Page to see what's on the horizon.
