The Seas May Get Rough: a Lenten/Easter Opportunity – February 21st – April 24th
Pastor Libby Nocheck and Pastor Dave Bushnell are co-leading a Lenten/Easter elective (developed by Pastor Dave) on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 pm in the Chapel. In case of bad weather, the group will meet via Zoom.

This elective is an opportunity to experience an awareness and renewal of Christian Community. We are the Body of Christ called (and sometimes recalled) to incarnational ministry that seeks healing and wholeness for ALL of creation. In his book, Climate Church, Climate Change, UCC Pastor Jim Antal claims it is time “to repurpose the church and inspire humanity to engage a new moral era.”   This elective provides a way for that repurposing to begin.

The 10-session elective includes brief talks followed by small group sharing sessions.  Each session of the elective builds on the foundation of earlier sessions.  The material introduces participants to the “long emergency” of climate change and begins to offer multiple ways for a church to do something about it. There are songs to sing, videos to watch, conversations to be shared, prayers to hold up, brief times of worship and most importantly, times for growing in the body of Christ.
