Children’s Ministries

“Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”

A bonus to having a smaller church is that when children come to HPUCC, they become our children, our niblings, our grandchildren. And parents/guardians find that they are not alone, they are surrounded by brothers and sisters who will journey with them.

We welcome children and everything that comes with them (sounds, activities, questions). We cherish families and want to support them in any way in which we can. Most of the activities and events of this church welcome entire families.

We believe it takes a village to raise a child and we welcome the opportunity to be a part of your child’s village. Following are some of the specifically child centered activities and programs that we offer as we seek to be a part of your village. Prayer-Ground

To make our sanctuary as child friendly as possible, we a “Prayer Ground” in a front pew. We recognize that children are more engaged when they can see what’s going on therefore, a special space in front of the Worship Space is set up especially for families with children. Soft toys, carpet squares, books and coloring pages are available there. Families can sit together there or they can take these items to another location during worship. Simply return them after worship.

Children’s Room/Nursery

Located through the side doors from our sanctuary, down the hall past the bathrooms to the right. Following the children’s message, this space is staffed by a team of screened volunteers who lovingly care for and teach lessons to all ages of children. If your little one needs a break at a time when our nursery isn’t staffed, families can take their child there anytime. There is a live stream view of worship.

Children’s Choir

Children aged 3 and up. They sing the first Sunday of the month at the 9:30 am service. Rehearsal is the Thursday before these Sundays at 6 pm in the sanctuary. All are welcome!

Our Library

Located through the side doors from our sanctuary contains children’s books and interactive activities for children and families. The items found in the library can be perused while you are there or checked out and taken home.

Preschool

We offer a week day morning preschool whose purpose is to help each child grow and develop in a Christian environment through trusting and loving relationships that enable each child to develop to his/her fullest potential emotionally, physically and socially. Other Events and Programs

If you have an idea that you would like HPUCC to consider offering, please call the church and offer your suggestions. We are always looking for creative opportunities and possibilities.

Safe Child Policy

Hamilton Park UCC has a Safety and Security Team that works diligently to ensure that safety is in the forefront of our decisions and planning. We especially take this seriously when children are considered and have a Safety Policy in place available for parents to look over.
